Coronavirus: Announced and planned relief measures

[As of 16.06.2020]

In the course of the government retreat on 15 and 16 June, the following measures were announced:

• Reduction in VAT to 5% in the catering and cultural sectors, and for newspapers and books
• Reduction in the entry-level tax rate from 25% to 20% for income tax (negative tax of €100)
• Investment bonus of up to 14%
• Loss carryback: Losses from 2020 should be able to be offset against profits from 2019 and 2018 for tax purposes
• Improvement to the fixed cost subsidy
• Reliefs for agricultural and forestry businesses worth €400 million
• One-off payment to the unemployed of €450
• Family bonus of €360 per child
