Standard allowances for maintenance benefits for the calendar year 2022 published
The amount of child support payments as a result of a separation of parents is regularly based on a court judgment or settlement, or a regulatory determination. In cases where a regulatory determination of child support payments is not available, the standard rates must be applied. The monthly standard rates are adjusted annually on July 1st. To ensure that no different amounts are taken into account for tax purposes (relevant for the child support payment amount) on an annual basis, the currently valid standard rates for the entire calendar year 2022 must be used (amounts in € per month):
0-3 years: 219 (so far 213)
3-6 years: 282 (so far 274)
6-10 years: 362 (so far 352)
10-15 years: 414 (so far 402)
15-19 years: 488 (so far 474)
19-25 years: 611 (so far 594)
In this case, the following applies for the enforcement of the maintenance payment amount of €29.20 (1st child)/€43.80 (2nd child)/€58.40 (3rd and each additional child): if neither a legally established maintenance obligation nor a written contract exists, a confirmation from the receiving person is required, which indicates the amount of the agreed maintenance and the amount actually paid. In all these cases, the maintenance payment amount is only available for each calendar month if the agreed maintenance obligation is fulfilled in full and the standard requirements are not exceeded.
