Quick Info COVID-19: Leave entitlement for pregnant women extended until the end of the year
In light of the current coronavirus infection situation, the entitlement to special exemption for all pregnant women in physically demanding jobs is to be extended retroactively from October 2021 until the end of the year. Through this measure, expectant mothers who are not yet vaccinated will continue to be protected – the costs for the exemption will be fully reimbursed to employers. As reported in July, This thus seamlessly builds on the previous extension of the exemption until the end of September. Again, the prerequisite for claiming the exemption is physical contact with other people (e.g., as a kindergarten educator or hairdresser), and the absence of alternative employment opportunities.
