Increase in deferral interest from 1 July

After several consecutive increases, the European Central Bank decided in June to cut the key interest rate by 0.25 percentage points. This does not result in a change to the base interest rate – it remains at 3.88 – % as changes of less than 0.5 percentage points in total are not taken into account since the last change.

The base interest rate, which is known to serve as a multiple reference interest rate, applies equally. With respect to the hourly interest rates, it should be noted that, in accordance with § 212, paragraph 2 of the BAO, as of July 1, 2024, the hourly interest rates are % 4.5% above the applicable base interest rate. The corresponding current annual interest rates are shown in the following table. If the mentioned interest rates do not reach an amount of €50, they will not be set.
